ACTA organises training on integrity, transparency

Doha: The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA), in cooperation with the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), organised a virtual training programme on international standards for community awareness in promoting integrity, transparency and anti-corruption, with regional case studies. The training took place on Oct 23 and 24. 

The programme targeted employees from both sides. It  aimed to create a mutual understanding of the competencies and tasks of ACTA and PACC, as well as develop the participants' competencies in the area of community awareness of corruption prevention, as well as familiarise them with the relevant international standards and their practical applications. In addition to introducing international experiences in mechanisms for corruption case complaints and reports. 

Moreover, the programme introduced participants to the systems of protection for corruption case witnesses and whistle blowers in Arab countries, in addition to familiarising participants with international standards for gift handling in public sector institutions.

The importance of the training programme supervised by officials from the two bodies lies in the exchange of successful national experiences in integrity, transparency, and anti-corruption enhancement, and to develop the participants' technical capacity building. As well as raising their efficiency and providing them with the latest international standards and best practical applications in the field of integrity, transparency and anti-corruption, in accordance with the objectives the strategy to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.

The training programme fell within the context of implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between the ACTA and PACC.
