Doha: A large number of hockey fans who had come to watch the India-Pakistan match of the Asian Champions Trophy at Al Rayyan Stadium returned disappointed as tickets were sold out two days before the crunch match.

The event management company QSports, managing the show on behalf of Qatar Hockey Federation, bowing to popular demand, had sold additional 400 tickets yesterday.

The Al Rayyan Stadium hockey stadium, which was built during the 2006 Asian Games, has a capacity of 2,000 spectators.

Arch rivals India and Pakistan, Malaysia, China, Japan and Oman are contesting the six-nation tournament which ends on December 27. India has qualified for the final and another match between the two teams is on the cards if Pakistan finish second in the round-robin league matches.
