DOHA: A large number of people participated at the South Family Spring Festival held in Al Wakra during the weekend.
The festival ground was staged with a variety of events including fun games for children, police dog show, traditional eateries, handicrafts, horse and camel riding.
Traditional and cultural heritage of Qatar was displayed well in the festival.
Two falcons were exhibited by some youth falconers and visitors were allowed to take photographs with them.
The dog show and camel and horse riding attracted visitors. Prizes including flowers, informative prints and sweets were awarded for the visitors
Community Policing, South Security and Medical Departments distributed brochures that provide awareness on security systems, medical tips and first aid.
Civil Defence section was set up to feature the different types of fire extinguishers and different methods of their usage.
The festival was organised by Al Wakra Municipality, South Security Department and Community Policing Division on Friday and yesterday. Qatar Equestrian Federation, Productive Families Department, Police Dog Section, and Medical Services Department also joined the event.
