Doha: Qatari Red Crescent has adopted the treatment of 250 cases at a cost of QR2.5m as part of its efforts to serve the local community through its Patients Benefit Fund project which is one of the most important projects for helping the poor and the needy.
The Patients Benefit Fund project aims to help patients who are unable to pay the cost of treatment in the state. It provides medicine and health services in a manner to achieve social solidarity.
Qatar Red Crescent Secretary General Saleh bin Ali Al Mohannadi said that the number of cases that have been assisted by the Fund for the current financial year since April 2013 and so far amounted to about 250 cases, including three cases of ear cochlear implants where costs of treatment were fully covered by the Fund.
