Rasameel fund invites applications from Qatari entrepreneurs

DOHA: The Social Development Centre (SDC) is inviting Qatari entrepreneurs and young talents to apply for Rasameel fund.
The fund targets Qatari entrepreneurs over 18 who want to start and manage projects on the basis of profitable investment.
There are no specific qualifications no or a certain income required for acceptance; it is enough for the applicant to have an idea for a potential or existing project to be eligible for fund.
The fund provides grants and soft loans without interest or administrative fees and trains beneficiaries to manage their projects by providing guidance and counselling.
Munther Abdullah Al Dawood, Projects and Investment Manager, SDC, said, “Rasameel’s mission is integrated with the country’s plans to promote an entrepreneurial culture and the fund seeks to motivate and encourage young Qataris to adopt private entrepreneurial projects by offering services to help implement successful business ventures that provide them with financial stability and profitability.”
Hamad Jafar Al Saffar, Head, Entrepreneurship Support Department, SDC, said, “We aim through Rasameel to help ambitious Qatari entrepreneurs implement and manage their projects successfully, which contributes to the betterment and stability of their living conditions.
“We are working on the development of the fund and its services and are in the final stages of receiving a consultancy study which will improve the efficiency of the inputs and outputs of the fund and achieve the highest level of satisfaction for the targeted group and authorities.”
Last year, Rasameel saw 350 funding requests, 170 nominations to receive training and rehabilitation services and granted loans to 25 beneficiaries.
