The Ministry of Economy and Commerce yesterday held the first forum for economists under the theme of sectoral productivity and its impact on Qatari economic diversity, with the participation of a wide selection of economic experts and consultants from the ministry as well as the public and private sectors.
Holding the forum complies with the ministry's keenness on developing and diversifying Qatari economy, and improving the business environment in the country. The forum, which coincides with the launch of the second phase of the National Development Strategy (NDS 2017-2022), touched on the economic aspect and production rates in the different sectors and their impact on economic diversity in the country.
It also reviewed production rates across all sectors in the past few years, highlighting the main challenges facing economic growth and how to face them. Participants discussed a paperwork by the ministry, in which some solutions and ideas were presented to help the Qatari economy boost productivity, particularly in the non-hydrocarbons sector.
