Doha: The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari participated in the opening ceremony declaring Manama as the capital of Arab Tourism 2013, yesterday.
The Minister received an official invitation from Bahraini Minister of Culture Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa to attend the ceremony.
Doha: Qatar Environment Day will be celebrated today. This year it is being celebrated under the slogan “Our Environment, Our Responsibility.”
The Ministry of Environment said in a statement yesterday that it would use the occasion to accomplish a set of goals, including the value of cooperation between members of society in conserving the environment. The Ministry has prepared a number of events to raise awareness, including competitions, games and lectures in schools and other locations.
The ministry also said that choosing this year’s slogan was due to the importance of conserving the environment to maintain a better life for all creatures on Earth.
