Doha: Qatar Petroleum (QP) has signed up as sponsor of the 3rd Regional Congress for Public Relations organised by the International Public Relations Association, Gulf Chapter (IPRA-GC). The event will be held at Sheraton Doha on April 7 and 8.
The conference, first time in Doha, is being held under the patronage of the Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman and Managing Director of QP H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada. Over 300 VIPs and delegates, including public relations leaders and experts from all over the GCC and the Arab world, will attend the conference, a press release issued by QP said yesterday.
The sponsorship agreement was signed by Abdulrahman Abdulla Al Obaidly, Manager of Public Relations and Communications of QP, and Jassim Fakhroo, President of the conference.
“This strategic agreement for the 3rd Regional Congress for Public Relations is in line with Qatar Petroleum’s objective to enhance the public relations culture in the country,” said Al Obaidly. “The conference will discuss the most important aspects of public relations in Qatar and GCC countries and the event will be an ideal opportunity for PR and communications professionals to exchange experiences and share best practices.”
Fakhroo said: “Our partnership with Qatar Petroleum is a significant added value and qualitative move enriching the activities of the 3rd Regional Congress for Public Relations.”
The event will feature six workshops dealing with the role of public relations in energy crises management; the basics of communication strategic plans development; the effectiveness of social interaction tools in public relations plans; the arts of conferences and events organisation; the ethical responsibility of public relations functions, and administering and planning media campaigns in the framework of social responsibility.
The workshops will be organised by Rada Research & Public Relations, which is an internationally-recognised regional organisation.
Fakhroo said that the conference programme includes specialised seminars to be conducted by public relations experts and leaders in the Arab world.
Fakhroo has extended an invitation to all managers and staff working in public relations and the media to attend the conference. “I am sending an open invitation to the management and staff of public relations firms and departments in Qatar to benefit from the conference sessions, seminars and workshops which will the most useful information they will discuss, thus contributing to performance development and skills enhancement,” he said.
