Sharjah: Qatar Paralympic team ended their campaign in the prestigious inaugural West Asian Para Games 2017 on high note, by winning the eight place overall in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, Qatar Olympic Committee said in its website on Sunday.
Team Qatar showed impressive performance in the games to claim 8 medals, including 5 gold, one silver and two bronze. The Iraqi team confidently clinched the title of the event after winning 47 medals.
The prestigious games brought together 12 Arab nations to compete in Athletics, Powerlifting, Goalball, Table Tennis and Wheelchair Basketball.
The Games were organized by the UAE Paralympic Committee represented by the Knorfakkan Club for the Handicapped. All NPCs from the west Asian Sub Region were invited to attend.
