Doha: Qatar Duty Free, a subsidiary of Qatar Airways, has announced the winners of two draws this week.
The first Millionaire draw of the year, at Doha International Airport, saw Alexandros Parissis, a Greek, winning $1m cash prize.
The excitement continued when QDF drew the name of Rodelio Leonardo, a Filipino, making him the owner of a brand new Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe.
“I never expected that I would win the Millionaire draw, this will completely change my life. I am extremely grateful to QDF for the chance to win such an amazing prize,” said Parissis.
The draws were conducted in  the departures area and presided over by Akbar Al Baker, CEO, Qatar Airways.
“The QDF Millionaire draw is a very popular promotion and this year, raffle tickets were sold out in record time. The tremendous response we have received from customers since we started the draw has encouraged us to bring back the promotion time and time again,” said Keith Hunter, Senior Vice-President, QDF. “Thus, for those who missed out on their chance with the Millionaire draw this time, there’s always another opportunity to win,” he said.
Ticket No. 1700 won in the Millionaire draw, and Ticket No. 1412 in the luxury car draw. The Millionaire raffle was launched in May 2006, giving passengers an opportunity to win as each draw is made after 5,000 tickets are sold.
