Training course in creative thinking begins

Doha: A training course in creative thinking began yesterday at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs’ training centre with participation of 32 employees from various departments and sections.
The course, organised by the Human Resources Department at the ministry, aims to develop skills and information relating to the characteristics and advantages of creative thinking to improve and achieve administrative excellence. Abdurrahman Mohammed, Head of training and administrative development section at the department, told the opening session that it was part of a training plan for this year within the framework of objectives and ongoing efforts to provide training opportunities for ministry staff.
Zakat Fund Spends QR11m in two months
Doha: The Zakat Fund at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has announced that it had spent QR11,706,797 on urgent and monthly assistance programmes in two months.
In a report, the fund said the  amount does not include the Student Sponsorship Programme, the Debtors’ Aid or needy families. It said the fund received 812 assistance requests of which 137 were rejected due to lack of eligibility, and 61 were put on hold for discussion.
Ahmed Sultan Al Meseifri, Head of the fund, explained that the fund acts as an agent for donors to deliver their zakat to eligible beneficiaries through office and field research mechanisms. He said the list of documents required from assistance seekers is available at all public and private institutions. QNA
