Doha: MES Indian School won the overall championship in the boys’ athletic Meet with 9 Gold, 7 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the SOP (School Olympic Programme) held at Aspire Domeon on May 21, 2022 for all private and public schools in Qatar, organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Omar Salem, Nihal Hakkim, Mohamed Roshan, Nikhil Manojkumar, Nidal T Yehiya, Joel Shibu, Abdul Rahman Beig, Ameen and Khaleed S won gold medals. Nidal T Yehiya, Joel Shibu, Omar Salem, Mohamed Roshan, Jasem Ali Akbar, Nihal Hakkim and Mohamed Adil secured silver medals, while Syed Fayezuddin and Mohamed Roshan won bronze medals.
MES football team was the only private school to reach the semifinal and only to lose in the penalty shootout in a tightly contested match.
