Manila: Qatar participated on Monday in the Asian Volleyball Confederation's (AVC) Board of Administration Meeting held in Manila.

Qatar was represented at the meeting by President of the Qatar and West Asian Volleyball Federations Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari.

The meeting was chaired by AVC's President Ramon Suzara, and attended by several members of the Federation's Board of Directors, heads of national federations, and representatives of relevant committees.

The meeting discussed ways to develop the game at the continent level, reviewed key challenges facing it, and discussed opportunities for its advancement, joint cooperation programs between national federations, and the agenda for upcoming tournaments.

The board meeting also included the draw for several upcoming Asian tournaments, most notably the Men's Asian Cup, scheduled to be held in Bahrain from June 17-24, 2025, with the participation of 12 teams.

The draw resulted in the defending champions, Qatar, being placed in Group B alongside Australia and Kazakhstan, in one of the strongest groups in the tournament. The meeting also included the draw for the AVC Women’s U16 Championship, which will be held in Jordan from July 20-27, with the participation of elite Asian teams.
