Panaji: A ship is stranded 500km off Goa and is floating towards the state’s beaches, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said yesterday. Parrikar also said that unconfirmed reports suggested that the ship had over 450 containers on board carrying arms and ammunition. “I have been told by the Coast Guard that a ship carrying over 450 containers from Singapore to the Middle East had developed cracks and is floating towards Goa,” Parrikar said. He said some of the containers had fallen off the ship and were floating towards the coast at about 2.5 nautical miles an hour.
University student stabbed to death
New Delhi: A 22-year-old Delhi University student was stabbed to death near his home here, police said yesterday, blaming it on personal enmity. One of the attackers was arrested. Five people attacked Pankaj Kashyap in south Delhi’s Madan Gir area on Monday. He was a student of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College.
