Doha: Qatari sprinter and world 400m bronze medalist Abdalelah Haroun passed away on June 26, 2021. Qatar Olympic Committee announced the news on their Twitter handle today.
Agencies quoted officials as saying the 24-year old died in a car crash.
Haroun won the 2017 400m world bronze with a timing of 44.48 seconds.
He had also won silver medal at the 2016 World Indoor Championships, two gold medals at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta in 400m and 4X400m relay event as well.
