Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality has cleaned and disinfected 165 places for Eid Al Aha prayer, making them ready for worshipers. The Ministry also prepared recreational facilities like public parks and beaches across the country to receive visitors during Eid festivity.
Additional veterinary doctors have been deployed at slaughterhouses to check the sacrificial animals before and after slaughtering to ensure the health and safety of people, the Ministry tweeted.
The electronic services of the Ministry of Municipality will be available 24 hours. People who plan to visit Panda House Park and Al Khor Family Park can book entry tickets through Oun app of the Ministry. Panda House Park will open from 9am to 5pm and Al Khor Family Park from 8am to 11pm during Eid Al Adha.
Cleaning teams from the General Cleanliness Department at the Ministry will work round-the-clock during the Eid Al Adha holidays to maintain hygiene all over the country, especially at public places.
The municipalities will host attractive activities for people of all age groups. The inspection campaigns have been intensified at food outlets to ensure their adherence to the health and safety rules.
Awareness drives are also going parallel to educate the workers at food outlets, especially food handlers about food safety and hygiene.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Municipality, in a statement, said that in preparations for Eid Al Adha, health control departments in all municipalities intensified their inspection and awareness campaigns on food outlets, especially slaughterhouses and meat shops.
This is to ensure their compliance with the health requirements, and to ensure the safety of food commodities during all stages of the food supply chain, including storage, transportation and sale.
In Al Sheehaniya Municipality, the Health Control Section of the Municipal Control Department continued inspection campaigns on food establishments, markets, meat and poultry and sweets shops, to ensure their compliance with health requirements.
In Al Wakra Municipality, the Director of the Municipal Control Department Jamal Al Buainain inspected Al Wakra Central Slaughterhouse to ensure its readiness to work and receive sacrificial animals during Eid Al Adha.
The Health Control Section also carried out an inspection campaign on vegetable and fruit shops and Al Wakra Central Market, to ensure their adherence to health requirements, and legal measures were taken against shops and workers who violate the Food Control Law.
Al Shamal Municipality, represented by the Health Control Department, carried out an inspection campaign on food outlets and Al Shamal Slaughterhouse to ensure their readiness.
The municipality also completed its preparations at public park facilities covering play areas, water coolers, and seating areas among others. It also cleaned and disinfected places of Eid Al Adha prayer and neighbouring areas.
Doha Municipality, represented by the Health Control Department, organised an awareness programme on food safety for officials and workers in food delivery companies to raise the level of health and safety for handling, transporting and selling food, amid increasing demand for delivery services for foods and non-food commodities.
Ahead of Eid Al Adha, a team of veterinary doctors from the Health Control Department of Umm Salal Municipality implemented an awareness campaign for the public, educating them on how to ensure the safety and health of sacrificial animals.
They stressed on the importance of slaughtering sacrificial animals in slaughterhouses under the supervision of the health control of the municipality for the health and safety of people.
As part of the preparations of Al Khor and Al Zakhira Municipality for Eid Al Adha, the Health Control Section organised many inspection campaigns on food establishments and shops selling sweets, chocolate, nuts, vegetables, and fruits.
