Qatar participates in 58th MENA and Near East Customs DGs meeting

Brussels: The State of Qatar participated in the 58th Regional Meeting of Directors General of Customs of the North of Africa, Near and Middle East region, and the 141st/142nd Sessions of the WCO Council, held at WCO Headquarters in Brussels.
Qatar was represented by Chairman of the General Authority of Customs (GAC) H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal.
The 58th Regional Meeting of Directors General of Customs of the North of Africa, Near and Middle East region discussed a number of topics, namely: the work of the Policy Commission, committee membership, and the adoption of the Terms of Reference document for the appointment of the Technical Attache, in addition to electing of a new Secretary-General and a new Chairperson.
During its 141st/142nd Sessions, the WCO Council focused its deliberations on various areas of Customs work, including Capacity Building, Rules of Origin, Valuation, Nomenclature and Classification, Compliance, and Trade Facilitation, as well as on budgetary and financial matters.
