Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced on Thursday the temporary closure of a private sector health centre due to violations of laws and regulations governing the healthcare sector.
This decision comes as part of the Ministry's ongoing oversight and inspection efforts, carried out by the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP).
The violations included the centre's failure to meet the minimum required number of nursing staff for operation, and allowing individuals without professional licences to work within the nursing team.
Additionally, the medical director of the centre is a dentist, whereas the role requires a physician due to the nature of the medical and administrative responsibilities associated with the position.
This constitutes a breach of the state's approved regulations and standards. All other necessary legal procedures are currently underway against the facility and the non-compliant healthcare practitioners.
The Ministry of Public Health stresses the importance of all healthcare facilities in the country adhering to the laws and regulations governing the health sector.
It also underscores the necessity of fulfilling all regulatory requirements when engaging in any healthcare activity, to ensure patient safety and uphold the quality of healthcare services provided.
