Doha, Qatar: The Qatari karate team delivered an impressive performance at the Arab and West Asian Karate Championships held in Amman, Jordan bagging seven medals including one gold, a silver and five bronze medals.
At the West Asian Karate Championships, Yaman Al-Natsheh struck gold in the men’s under-67 kg category. Abdulrahman Mustafa took silver in the under-21 under-60 kg division, while Hassan Mansour Al-Sheikh earned bronze in the junior over-70 kg category.
In the Arab Karate Championship, Qatari athletes impressed and added four more bronze medals: Yaman Al-Natsheh (men’s under-67 kg), Hassan Mansour Al-Sheikh (junior over-70 kg), Abdulrahman Mustafa (men’s under-60 kg and under-21 under-60 kg).
The delegation was led by Adel Al-Marzouqi, Executive Director of the Qatar Taekwondo, Judo and the Karate Federation, and included top athletes and coaching staff under head coach Mustafa Ahmamy.
Al-Marzouqi praised the team’s outstanding performance, calling it a reflection of their discipline, fighting spirit, and the Federation’s long-term strategy for excellence on the international stage.
Meanwhile, in judo, Fatina Buqhous claimed a bronze medal in the women’s under-57 kg youth category at the Asian Judo Cup, also held in Jordan.
The Qatari team is set to return today.
