Doha, Qatar: Defending champions Al Sadd will face Qatar SC in one of the exciting matches of the second round of the Qatar Stars League at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Friday, with both sides looking for a result to build on their opening performances.

Al Sadd began their title defence with a 3-1 victory over Al Ahli and will be aiming for a second straight win. Qatar SC, meanwhile, shared a 2-2 draw with Al Wakrah and are chasing their first victory of the new season.

The fixture also brings back memories of an exciting rivalry from last season. Qatar SC stunned Al Sadd 3-2 in the first leg before the champions responded with a 3-2 victory in the return fixture.

The other major fixture of the round sees Al Gharafa take on Al Shamal at Khalifa Stadium tomorrow.
