Doha: The Director of Strategy and Improvement at Mowasalat, Nasser Al Khanji, and Dr Raghavan Seetharaman, Group CEO of Doha Bank, are among the line-up of executives supporting the Qatar Gas Distribution Projects Conference from December 8 to 11 at the Renaissance Doha City Center Hotel.
Dedicated to driving growth of sustainable energy, the conference is developed by the International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) and spearheaded by its event partners Marafeq, Mowasalat and Qatar Fuel (Woqod).
The event will also be the first Qatari-focused international conference to highlight the importance of gas distribution for achieving national energy security and sustainable development.
Brett Subritzky, Mowasalat’s Business Development Manager, will discuss the road map with regard to utilising natural gas for public and private transport, establishing needed conversion centres, training and development and Qatar’s vision and goals for NGVs.
The event is supported by several government departments and private sector organisations, including the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, NGV Global, Qatar Petroleum, Kuwait Oil Company, Emirates Transport, Emirates Gas, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia and the German embassy in Qatar.
Speaking on the importance of the event to the market, Leila Masinaei Al Marzouqi, Director for Energy Division, IQPC Middle East, said: “In Qatar, the first CNG fuelling station and first paid or public transport CNG buses mark the nation’s march towards meeting its growing fuel needs with an environmentally friendly alternative.
“This event is an ideal platform for all stakeholders to come together for a sneak peek of what is expected to happen in Qatar’s growing energy landscape,” Al Marzouqi added.
Government and industry specialists will also participate and speak at the forum.
They include Dr Vespel Turkel, Deputy General Manager of IGDAS; Diego Goldin, Executive Director of NGV Global Australia; Fazal Ali Khan, CNG Development Manager of Emirates Gas; Muhammed Yaacob, Design Manager of Marafeq; Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, Deputy General Manager of Operations for National Gas Company SAOG, Oman; and Pankaj Mishra, Director (Commercial) for Green Gas Limited.
