IFBB world champion unveils MES Ruby Jubilee football pitch

Ahmed Hamouda, IFBB World Amateur Champion, Guest of Honour, unveiled the new artificial turf  Ruby Jubilee football pitch of MES Indian School, in a glittering ceremony with guests from different walks of life recently. A six lane synthetic track surrounds the main football field for athletic purpose, and the gallery can accommodate more than one thousand viewers.  
“Sports and games are the inevitable part of every child to develop his personality and this is a welcoming move to strengthen the game at the grassroots through improved facilities,” remarked Paul Astley, Head Elite Training Camps, Aspire Logistics, Chief Guest, while declaring the 40th Sports meet open. He also exalted the tireless efforts put in by MES to bring up students to excel in sports and games.
The pitch was unveiled in the presence of V V Mahamood, President, A Shamsuddeen, Sr Vice President, K P Abdul Azeez, General Secretary, Ahamed Isham, Director, Sports and Games, MES Governing Board, other Members of the Management, A P Sasidharan, Principal, Hadi Mullah, General Manager, Waterless Green, Vice Principals and Head of Sections, teachers, parents and hundreds of football fans.
The school had signed a contract with Waterless Green for QR1m for the renovation of the football field. The project was scheduled in a single phase to lay top quality turf and was completed within the stipulated time frame.
The occasion also witnessed the release of the news letter, Nov 2014, by the Chief Guest, which reflects the curricular and co-curricular activities of the school in particular.
The cultural fiesta commenced with a procession displaying Indo-Arab culture, tradition and heritage. The colorful and synchronized march past and drill display by blue, green, red and yellow houses stole the heart of the spectators. The national champions and athletes of the school were the torch bearers at the function. Mathew A, Sports Captain Boys’ Section, led the oath taking ceremony. Anushka, Sports Captain Girl’s Section, welcomed the gathering while Manali Sudhir, Sports Captain, CBSE i proposed the vote of thanks.
Ezekiel Balraj, Head, Department of Physical Education, co-ordinated the event.
