Doha: Qatar Exchange index gained 78.35 points, or 0.58 percent, when the bourse closed at 13,544.04 points. The traded value declined to QR459.679m from QR622.361m registered on Thursday. The traded volume dropped to 11,833,465 shares from 5,186 transactions compared to 13,668,931 shares from 6,033 transactions on Thursday.
The market value maintained its upward graph from last week when it increased to QR730.5bn from Thursday’s closing at QR726.5bn. Barring telecom, which is 0.61 percent down and insurance (-0.14 percent) indices, all ended in the green zone yesterday. Transport index gained the most, with a 1.19 percent gain when it closed at 2,638.39 points.
Banks and financial sector index was up 0.60 percent to 3,406.5 points. Industries index gained 0.27 percent when it advanced to 4,509.13 points.
From the 43 listed companies, shares of 42 exchanged hands today. From these 24 made gains, 12 went down and six remained unchanged.
Qatar National Bank share gained for the third consecutive day up QR2.10 up 1.01 percent when it closed at QR211, while Qatar Islamic Bank share gained QR1.50, or 1.31 percent, when it closed at 116. QNA
