Sebastiao Lazaroni returns to Qatar SC as coach.

DOHA: Sebastiao Lazaroni, the former Qatar coach and manager of Qatar SC, is set to start a fresh stint with the Qatar Stars League (QSL) outfit, it was announced yesterday.
Qatar SC yesterday decided to part ways with coach Radhi Shenaishil who saw his side without a point after six QSL matches.
Qatar SC are at the bottom of the QSL standings with just one point from a draw against Umm Salal.
According to details, Lazaroni and Qatar SC have agreed in principal to take the move forward of joining the team as soon as possible.
The 65-year-old veteran coach also coached the Qatar national side three years ago.
Lazaroni is on his way to Doha where he is expected to arrive today.
Lazaroni is well known in Brazil as the manager who tried to introduce the libero position in Brazilian football.
He used the 3-5-2 scheme during the 1990 FIFA World Cup, but it was a failure as Brazil was eliminated in the second round by Argentina. Lazaroni first coached Qatar SC from 2008 to 2011 and then for another two seasons from 2012 to 2014.
Meanwhile, Al Rayyan  Head Coach Jorge Fossati said that the derby victory over Al Arabi wasn’t easy at all with the tie as  tough and strong as he just expected,  despite the 5-2 score-line.
Fossati said in the post match press conference: “Al Rayyan played well against Al Arabi in the view of both sides’ match preformance which made for an exciting game.”
Fossati congratulated Al Arabi on the performance and said: “Al Arabi played very well despite the loss.”
Commenting on the score-line, he said: “No I didn’t expect such huge win but I anticipated a tough game.”
Commenting on the sending off Rajab Hamza, he said: “Indeed this expulsion gave our players more freedom in the field of play in order to add more goals.”
He also considered the match against Al Arabi as one of the best for his team.
He also praised the high spirits of the fans who added to the atmosphere of this derby match.
