Doha: Marathi Toastmasters Club recently celebrated its first anniversary, which was attended by Toastmaster International President Margaret Page.
Marathi Toastmasters Club, a community club comprising expatriates from the Indian state of Maharashtra, was incorporated on September 1, 2020, with a goal in mind to enhance the communication and leadership skills of Marathi community.
Marathi Toastmasters Club held its first in-person meeting recently adhering to social distancing protocols.
Meeting was called to order by Madhuri Borgave. The dignitaries and members were welcomed by the Club President President Chandrashekhar Angadi. He highlighted that in-person meetings brings members closer and should organize more such meetings.
Toastmaster of the day Sujata Wakhare conducted an interactive session. Founder President Abhijit Kuwalekar conducted the new member induction ceremony. He also highlighted that the Toastmasters collective obligation is to grow, to improve, share knowledge and experiences with the fellow members in a spirit of enjoyment.
Anita Samanta, Division B Director, graced the occasion. In her address to the club, she expressed that Marathi TM Club is always raising the bar not only at Division but also at District 116 and congratulated the Executive committee for achieving the Smedley Award. Area 8 Director Anjali Pimple also encouraged the members to participate in the upcoming contest.
