Al Sadd win friendly against Mesaimeer

Doha: Al Sadd defeated Mesaimeer 3-2 in a friendly match played yesterday on Al Sadd’s training pitches in preparation for the Qatar Stars League (QSL) fixtures on November 30.
Mesaimeer took the lead in the fifth minute through Ahmed Al Salmi.
Al Sadd equalised through Rodrigo Tabata in the 14th minute.
Tabata got his second in the 31st minute to end the first half 2-1 in Al Sadd’s favour.
At the beginning of the second half, substitute Jessie John scored the equaliser for Mesaimeer in the 50th minute.
Finally Tabata scored his hat trick and final goal in the 71st minute to clinch the victory for Al Sadd.
Meanwhile, Khalfan Ibrahim’s injury rehabilitation is moving in the right direction.
The ace player suffered a knee injury during a training session with Qatar national team and has since being undergoing treatment  hoping for a quick recovery.
Yesterday Khalfan trained for the first time with Al Sadd team as he aims to regain his physical fitness before joining Al Sadd for their team training sessions.
The Al Sadd star will travel to Manila, the capital city of Philippines on November 27 to participate in the AFC 60th Anniversary Gala which will be held on November 30.
The midfielder is one of the player short listed for the AFC Player of the year award.
Meanwhile, Lekhwiya won a friendly against Umm Salal, played at Lekhwiya training pitch by two goals to nil as part of their preparations for QSL matches.
The first half was dominated by Lekhwiya with many chances, nevertheless Lekhwiya’s players didn’t’ take full advantage with the first half ending goalless.
At the beginning of the second half Lekhwiya continued to control possession until Sebastian Soria was able to score the first goal on the 50th minute before he added the second goal in the 55th minute to end the match 2-0.
The Peninsula
