Beirut: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty said that his country is making intensive efforts to spare Lebanon the dangers of any potential Israeli escalation.

In a press conference following his meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Wednesday, Abdelatty expressed concern for Lebanon's security and stability, fearing any possibility of a military escalation, which is why Egypt will not cease any effort to spare Lebanon the woes of such a development.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister said that Cairo is exerting every possible effort and leveraging its relations with all regional and international players to support de-escalation, implement the agreement to halt hostile actions, and work to defuse any potential escalation.

Abdelatty added that extending the Lebanese state's authority over all its territory is of extreme importance.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister said that the arrogance of power will neither bring stability to Israel nor the region, expressing Egypt's commitment to diplomatic and political solutions to resolving the crisis between Lebanon and Israel, far from any military confrontation.
