Doha: Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced Wednesday the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with MediaPower to develop the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.
In a statement, the QFA said that this partnership is the culmination of a technical and operational process that began more than a year ago and is the result of a well-considered plan between the two parties.
The plan aims to expand the horizons of advanced technology that will elevate the refereeing system to the latest international standards.
The signing ceremony was attended by Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee Pierluigi Collina, along with several QFA department directors and heads of sections, as well as various media outlets.
Hani Taleb Ballan, a member of the QFA Executive Committee, stated on this occasion that the strategic partnership between the two parties represents a qualitative leap in the operation of the VAR system, ensuring a sustainable legacy that serves and elevates the refereeing system not only in Qatar but also internationally.
Moreover, its impact will extend to becoming a hub for regional and continental development, yielding tangible results in the near future.
Blan concluded his statement by thanking the entire team working on the new national project from the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Media Power, who spared no effort over the past year.
Their tireless work has borne fruit, bringing this project to fruition with ambitious goals that will soon be realized on the ground, delivering concrete results for the refereeing system.
