HBKU signs MoU with Maersk for LeaderShape programme

DOHA: Hamad bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Student Center signed a memorandum of understanding with Maersk Oil recently in support of the LeaderShape programme. 

The MOU was signed by HBKU’s Student Center Director, Ameena Hussain and the Head of Social Investment of Maersk Oil, Faisal Al Medaihki. 

The investment will help cover all the expenses of students taking part in this year’s LeaderShape programme. 

Ameena Hussain said: 

“The LeaderShape Institute was invited to to provide students with an intensive six-day leadership experience centered on teaching university students to lead with integrity.” 

As an international oil and gas company, Maersk Oil is committed to giving back to the Qatar community. 

This contribution is another example of Maersk Oil’s commitment to its core values by helping to develop Qatar’s future leaders and support the Qatar National Vision 2030. 

Maersk Oil Head of Social Investment Faisal Al Medaihki said: 

“We are delighted to be partnering with Hamad bin Khalifa University Student Center in support of the LeaderShape program. As a key pillar of our social investment programme, Maersk Oil recognises the importance of education in helping to build capacity, human capital and a skills base for the future success of Qatar. LeaderShape is doing just this by working to develop the leaders of tomorrow.”

The LeaderShape programme is open to students of HBKU and its partners. The program will be taking place from January 5 to January 10, at the Sultan Beach Resort in Al Khor. 

Hosted in Doha since 2007, the annual LeaderShape program was created to provide students with the opportunity to build their leadership capacity. 

This dynamic and challenging educational program will help provide students with the necessary tools, skills, and knowledge needed to successfully serve as global leaders in their society.
