Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday ratified Cabinet Decision No. 55 of 2013 on the enforcement of the provisions of Law No. 24 of 2002 on retirement and pensions for Qatari employees at Qatar Holding.
The Emir also ratified Cabinet Decision No. 56 of 2013 on the enforcement of the provisions of Law No. 24 for 2002 on retirement and pensions for Qatari employees at Woqod Vehicles Inspection Services.
Emiri decision on Police College
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued Emiri Decision No. 161 of 2013 on the establishment and regulation of the Police College.
Ambassador to Niger appointed
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued Emiri Decision No. 162 of 2013, appointing Abdulaziz Mubarak Said Al Mohannadi as Qatar’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Niger.

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued Law No. 17 of 2013 on the organisation of exhibitions The law cancelled any provision contravening its provisions.
Gulf Musical Arts Festival opens
Doha: The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage H E Dr Hamad Abdulaziz Al Kuwari opened last evening the Second Gulf Musical Arts Festival at Qatar National Theatre.
The five-day festival with participation of 12 singers from GCC states, is part of resolutions of the 18th meeting of GCC ministers of culture in Riyadh in October 2012. Kuwait hosted the first edition of the festival in 2011.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Minister said: “The festival is part of a series of cultural events held in Doha recently to highlight the importance of the arts in our lives, such as theatre, music and singing.” He stressed that interest in such art confirms the Arab cultural identity “we cherish and cultural heritage we are proud of”.
Israeli strikes on Gaza condemned
Doha: Qatar has denounced air strikes and artillery shelling by Israeli forces on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday that left several people, including a child, dead. An official source at the Foreign Ministry said in a statement to Qatar News Agency that Qatar strongly condemned Israel’s continued hostile acts.
