DOHA: The General Directorate of Civil Defence conducted a mock drill at Qatar National Bank building on the Corniche yesterday as part of events to create safety awareness.
The exercise started with information received at the operation room about a fire in the air conditioning room on the third floor of the building with thick smokes coming out.
Firefighting and rescue teams from Wadi Al Sail Civil Defence Centre moved to the site with three fire engine, used for rescue services in high-rise buildings and a rapid intervention vehicle.
Security personnel at the bank evacuated the building and guided staff and customers to assembly point.
While the Civil Defence team searched for the missing and injured men, they found one man with fake injuries and took him to the ambulance, accompanied by mock drill team.
Rescue Police (Al Fazaa) participated in the operation as patrol squad and controlled traffic on the surrounding roads.
