Qatar to get educational robot equipment from Korean firm

DOHA: Korean robot company RoboBuilder will provide educational robot equipment to Qatar.
A total of 300 robot equipment will be provided during the first phase under an agreement recently signed between Al Harib Technologies and RoboBuilder.
Al Harib Chairman Ali Al Harib and RoboBuilder Executive Director Chang Bae Park signed the deal.
Al Harib will be responsible for distributing educational robots in Qatar and will promote the utilisation of educational equipment in the country. The second phase of the agreement will see the distribution of educational robots to other GCC countries, said Al Harib.
The company will also provide training programmes for teachers and students and give expert support, in collaboration with Qatar Scientific Club. 
Next year Doha will host the World Robot Olympiad in cooperation with RoboBuilder, the prize of which includes a visit to Korea.
Al Harib company officials visited Qatar University, Supreme Education Council and Barzan Youth Centre to promote the project and the available educational robots.
The two companies also organised workshops at Qatar Scientific Club, attended by the Korean Ambassador, Chung Keejong (pictured). They discussed, among others, the establishment of a national centre for robots.
