TOKYO: Tokyo stocks closed 1.03 percent higher Thursday, renewing its six-year-high, backed by a weaker yen and continued rallies on Wall Street.
The bellwether Nikkei 225 index ended 164.45 points higher at 16,174.44.
The Topix index of all first-section issues added 1.68 percent, or 21.16 points, to 1,279.34. (AFP)
