DURBAN: Persistent drizzle delayed the start of the first test between South Africa and England at Kingsmead on Saturday.

The match was scheduled to start at 0800 GMT but light rain in the morning means the toss will now take place then, with play to get underway half-an-hour later.

The match is the first of a four-game series, with further tests in Cape Town (Jan 2-6), and at high altitude in Johannesburg and Pretoria next month.
