Ezdan Mall at Al Wakrah.
Ezdan Mall Company, one of the Ezdan Holding Group subsidiaries, has announced the opening of Carrefour Hypermarket at Ezdan Mall -Al Wakrah, located opposite the Al Wakrah Hospital.
The launch of the supermarket giant comes as an enhancement to the serve the needs of the district as well as a mechanism to pave the way to the opening of the most anticipated shopping destination in that area.
Ali Mohammed Al Obaidli, CEO of Ezdan Holding Group, announced in a meeting with representatives of Carrefour’s management in Qatar and Group General Manager of Ezdan Mall Company Malik Qaisar Awan, the opening of their branch in Ezdan Mall– Al Wakrah. It is the second collaboration between Ezdan Holding Group and Carrefour after the success of opening the branch at the Ezdan Mall-Al Gharaffa.
With regards to the upcoming opening of Ezdan Mall – Al Wakrah, which is scheduled to celebrate the soft opening soon, Al Obaidli, said: “We spare no efforts to see the opening of Ezdan Mall Al Wakrah, which when inaugurated, will culminate our work over the past several months in strengthening our brand in the malls sector, while fulfilling the aspirations of Al Wakrah’s dwellers. The Group prides itself for its contribution towards the development of Al Wakrah and Al Wukair areas, which began with Ezdan Real Estate’s diverse residential units and villages. After that the Group planned to meet the needs of the increasingly growing population by creating two unique shopping malls. We are satisfied with the completion rate within the two malls, since all remains are the finishing touches before their full inauguration.”
“We have sought, in our founding vision of Ezdan Al Wakrah Mall, to establish a shopping center that provides residents access to international brands and luxury products. We have chosen a privileged location in the heart of the area, on the main road, and opposite Al Wakrah Hospital, for the mall to be built on an area of 64,785 sqm” he added.
The Group CEO stressed that Carrefour’s opening is only the first stage which will provide access to the district’s population to one of the world's largest retail chains. Moreover, he added that the development of the rest of the mall is currently in full swing.
Al Obaidli also hailed the progress made in leasing the mall’s outlets to global retail chains to launch their brands with ease. The mall’s leasable space is over 40,000 sqft, and the group expects that the official opening of Carrefour will serve as a catalyst to achieve full occupancy.
Malik Qaisar Awan, Group General Manager of Ezdan Mall Company expressed his delight for the opening of the first Carrefour branch in the Wakrah district, and said: “We are pleased that the mall has started its operations through the opening of Carrefour. This inauguration stands as another successful chapter of Ezdan in the sector of malls, after the milestones we have achieved with Ezdan Mall Gharafa.”
Ezdan Mall – Al Wakrah, will also soon be home to some of the most prominent global fashion brands, cafés, restaurants, kids and family activity areas including Riva, Funville, and Mado just to name a few. The Group has penetrated the sector of malls in April 2013 with great success, enabling the group to win numerous international awards within retail sector.
