Ideal Indian School holds 33rd Annual Sports Meet

The 33rd Annual Sports Meet of Ideal Indian School concluded with great fanfare and fascinating performance by 1200 students. Earlier, some 3000 students took part in the preliminary heats of various track and field events under sub-junior, junior, senior and super senior categories.

The grand finale was held recently where chief guest, Ali Ibrahim Shukri, Expert in Private Schools Office,  Ministry of Education & Higher Education declared the meet open after taking salutes of the marching athletes and hoisting the school flag. Mohammed Eisa Al Fadhala, General Secretary, Qatar Athletics Federation; Lt Khalid Muhammed Kahoura, Officer, Qatar Police Sports Federation, Ministry of Interior and Abdullah Haroun,

Athlete (400m) of International acclaim were the guests of honour. Faisal Al Hudawi, Community Reach Out Office Coordinator, Public Relations Department also attended the function. They were presented a guard of honour by the four houses of the school.

Opening the sports meet of the school chief guest, Ali Ibrahim Shukri, expressed joy and happiness on his  presence in the School’s sports meet and he wished all success to the school’s sports activities. Speaking on the occasion, School President, Hassan Kunhi congratulated the Physical Education Department as students of IIS performed remarkably well and brought laurels in the national and international sports meets.  He also said that sports and games are the right avenue to channelise the energy and vitality of youth and make their time worthwhile.
