Maharashtra Mandal Qatar (MMQ), a forum for expatriates from the Indian state of Maharashtra, recently celebrated Makarsankrant, the festival of Harvest, at the Indian Club. Over 425 members attended the function. The programme commenced with ‘Bornahan’, where small kids were showered with berries and other sweet things to eat. The highlight of the evening was ‘Meet Celebrity Chef Vishnu Manohar’. He is a well-known chef from Central India and features on Etv Marathi with his cookery show Mejwani. A food festival was arranged later in evening. Dishes were judged by the Chef and prizes were given to the winners.
