Doha: Qatar Airways will recruit Qatari talent at the 7th Annual Qatar-UK Career Fair at Grosvenor House Hotel in London on February 21-22.
During the two-day event, the airline aims at recruiting students for the National Scholarship Programme, the Graduate Development Programme, the Aviation Management Programme and the Internship Programme.
“It is our goal with every career fair we participate in to reach out to students who are keen to work hard to develop themselves and their careers.
“We continue to participate in the UK fair as we have had great success in the past, and it promises a platform to connect with Qatari talent interested in careers in aviation,” said Dr Kholode Al Obaidli, Vice-President of Nationalisation, Qatar Airways.
The airline, which has increased the number of students in its Qatar Airways Nationalisation Scholarship Programme by 100 percent in less than a year, hopes to continue the successful growth by encouraging Qatari students in the UK meeting educational requirements to apply for scholarships provided by the airline.
Qatar Airways sponsors over 100 university students in Qatar, the US, New Zealand and the UK, with a mandate to sponsor more than 200 students by the end of 2014. It provides educational and training programmes, including National Scholarship Programme, Cadet Pilot Programme, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Programme, Summer Internship Programme, Graduate Development Programme, Massey University MBA Programme, Aviation Management Programme and Jossor Programme.
To be part of the scholarship programme, students must be a Qatari national (or Qatari mother) and must not be sponsored by any other company.
They need to be self-funded or under HEI sponsorship, have a valid secondary school certificate of the current or previous year, have an overall average of a minimum of 80 percent in high school, with a minimum of 80 percent in maths, English and science, and a minimum score in an English proficiency exam.
Students should have an unconditional offer letter from a university approved by the company and be accepted into one of the approved majors, pass the personal interview, accept the department and work at the location assigned by Qatar Airways.
