DOHA: A law in the pipeline would change the name of Al Shihaniya to Al Shahaniya City, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported yesterday. A report on the draft law (No. 19 of 2014 amending some provisions of Law No. 22 of 1988 regarding the administrative borders of Al Shahaniya) prepared by the Services and Public Amenities Committee of the Advisory Council was discussed by the Council yesterday. Last year, Al Shahaniya was renamed as Al Shihaniya and declared Qatar’s eighth municipality. It will now be known as Al Shahaniya City. THE PENINSULA
