Ramallah: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Moustafa on Tuesday reiterated the importance of moving toward the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza.
Moustafa stressed that it is important for the Israeli occupation to withdraw from the Strip and to embark on Gaza recovery and redevelopment after closing the chapter of Israeli prisoners and receiving the last deceased bodies.
Speaking at a Cabinet meeting in Ramallah, Moustafa warned against the perilous tampering with this agreement by dint of creating new pretexts for escalation and hindering its implementation.
He emphasized that the priority lies in helping Palestinians in the Gaza enclave, essentially by opening the crossings and backing every single effort that mitigates the anguish of Gazans.
The Prime Minister welcomed any efforts or actions that help Palestinians and ensure the unity of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in terms of geography, law, and institutions, in alignment with international law, UN resolutions, and international agreements.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet endorsed the formation of a national team to follow up on the issue of missing Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip, to ensure action on all stages thereon.
