Qatar Stars League (QSL) defending champions Al Rayyan will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the 2017 AFC Champions League (ACL) when they take on Saudi club Al Hilal in the Group D match at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium.
The QSL club started their campaign in impressive fashion by registering a 2-1 win over Al Wahda in their first match of the campaign as goals from South American duo Gonzalo Viera and Victor Caceres ensured a win on their return to the competition.
Al Rayyan, will know a positive result in Riyadh will leave them in a strong position after just two games.
On the other hand, Al Hilal are also unbeaten start in the continental tournament group stages.
Brazilian Carlos Eduardo netted with eight minutes remaining as Al Hilal secured a 1-1 draw with Persepolis in their opening game of the tournament after falling behind midway through the second half. Saudi Arabian giants look to make it three wins in a row against their Qatari opponents after claiming a double in the 2013 group stage. Al-Hilal won both of the previous two encounters between these teams, outscoring Al Rayyan by a combined score of 5-1 in the 2013 Group Stage.
Elsewhere, Al Wahda target their first points of the 2017 group stage but face a Persepolis side that are riding high domestically and secured a credible draw will Al Hilal in their Group D opener.
Bunyodkor will be seeking their first AFC Champions League win since 2014 when they host last year’s runners-up Al Ain in Group C.
