Doha, Qatar: Garangao is a cherished tradition celebrated across the Gulf region. In Qatar, it marks the midway point of the holy month of Ramadan. 

The day serves as a celebration and encouragement for children, rewarding them for fasting for half of the holy month of Ramadan. 

Dressed in vibrant traditional garments and carrying colourful cloth bags, children move door-to-door chanting the Garangao song before being treated to handfuls of nuts sweets.

Torba Market

Garangao 2026 at Torba Market on 27 February 2026 promises exciting festivities that include a Garangao-themed treasure hunt, a Musaharati appearance, and Torba Junior vendors.

Old Doha Port (Mina District)

Garangao Night Drone Show at Throwback Food Festival

A spectacular drone show is set to light up Garangao night at the Throwback Food Festival. The show will feature Ramadan artwork created by students of Tariq Bin Ziad School alongside traditional songs performed by the school choir.
