DOHA: The fourth Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF), which opens tomorrow, will feature 42 food stalls offering a wide range of cuisines from around the world.
Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Airways, the four-day festival taking place at Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park will offer the best food from Doha’s best five star restaurants.
New this year will be an expanded range of zones for kids and families, including the Snack Zone and International Zone, each having 16 food stalls, and the Qatar UK Zone and Healthy Zone, with five stalls each.
New restaurants from Doha’s recently opened hotels and a great line-up of music and entertainment are other highlights of this year’s festival.
To celebrate Qatar UK Year of Culture 2013, the Qatar UK Zone will feature British food, as well as traditional Qatari tents offering Qatari food and hospitality. Visitors can indulge in Arabic sweets and high tea courtesy of Hilton Hotel, St Regis Hotel Doha and the Ritz-Carlton. Those who wish to have more of a VIP experience can purchase a ticket to the VIP Zone, which entitles guests to a three-course meal.
At the Healthy Zone, diners can enjoy salads, smoothies and delicious low-fat treats. Perrier will also have a tent for those who wish to quench their thirst.
The International Zone will offer country-themed food courts covering European, Arabic, American and Asian cuisine.
For family entertainment, there is the Family Zone with playgrounds, kid’s entertainment areas and snack kiosks.
Entry to the event is free. Vouchers for food and drinks will be sold on site at the event.
