DUBAI: Turkey imported nearly 147,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Iranian crude oil in January, a jump of 78 percent from December, data from the country's energy watchdog showed on Wednesday.

Iranian crude imports were at 612,548 tonnes or 146,966 bpd in January, compared with December's 82,849 bpd, according to data from EPDK.

Once reliant on Iran for more than half its crude imports, Turkey has reduced its purchases as the United States and European Union have tightened sanctions on trade with Tehran. (Reuters)
