BARCELONA: Veteran midfielder Xavi (pictured) of Barcelona is set to move to Qatar Stars League (QSL) giants Al Sadd, according to reports.
Xavi, 35, is likely to be unveiled as an Al Sadd player next week for a fee of £22m, reports said, adding the seasoned Barcelona campaigner will sign a three-year deal.
The Barcelona captain will also begin coaching the generation of players Qatar hope will represent them at 2022 FIFA World Cup by taking a position at Aspire Academy, said a report on www.dailymail.com
The 35-year-old was also sought by Manchester City-owned MLS franchise New York City.
Xavi’s £7.5m-a-year deal includes an optional extra year, according to reports.
The former Spanish player is understood to have made his decision after taking advice from another former Spain captain Raul.The Peninsula
