Pressure control valves inside the gas-fired power plant of German utility giant E.ON in Irsching near the southern Bavarian town of Ingolstadt yesterday. E.ON’s modern but unprofitable Irsching power station looks set to remain open as a reserve power plant under a deal hammered out with regulators and politicians, sources close to the talks said.
