DOHA: Twenty-two Doha-based artists from diverse backgrounds and from twelve different countries, will be exhibiting their work under the aegis of the International Artists Doha (IAD) at their fourth annual Art Exhibition hosted and sponsored by Qatar Foundation Community Services.
Artists are from countries including Germany, Iran, Canada, Croatia, USA, Egypt, India, the Netherlands, Sudan, Iraq, United Kingdom and Qatar.
The artists will be exhibiting their latest works addressing the theme ‘Rooh Al Hayat – The essence of life’ and are offering a wide range of styles from realism to abstract.
The exhibition will officially be opened on Wednesday at 6pm in AaQool Atrium, Qatar Foundation Recreation Centre in Education City by Jean Paul Engelen (QMA, Director of Public Art) and Hala Al Khalifa (QMA Head of Artists in Residence Programs).
Speakers will include Allyson Vanstone (Dean VCUQatar), Ibrahim Al Obaidly (Director QF Community Services) and Annette Wendling-Willeke (IAD Chair). Caitlin Doherty (VCUQatar Exhibition and Speaker Curator) will lead through the evening. The Doha Baroque Ensemble will play live classical music.
The Exhibition is open for the Public on Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm, on Thursday from 10am to 6pm, Friday, from 12pm to 6pm, and Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
Visitors are requested to come into Education City through Gate 2 and follow the temporary road signage to the Qatar Foundation Recreation Centre. AaQool Atrium is in the second floor.
All artists will contribute a canvas sized 30 cm x 30 cm, for a silent auction.
