Belarus, Qatar mull over joint coach and athlete training agreement

Doha:  Belarus and Qatar are working on an agreement to train coaches and athletes, it was reported here yesterday.
First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov met with Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee Dr Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwain Doha in which the draft agreement was discussed at the meeting between the two.
The document envisages the implementation of programs to train the coaching personnel and athletes, share experience, conduct joint training camps, take part in various events.
Thani Al Kuwari announced a number of initiatives to develop cooperation in winter sports, host joint tournaments in swimming, rowing, basketball and table tennis.
At the meeting Ryzhenkov noted that the present high level of cooperation between the leaders of the two countries promotes interaction between the National Olympic Committees.
The Qatari representatives received an invitation to attend the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Minsk in May 2016.
Representatives of the Qatar Olympic Committee plan to visit Minsk in October 2016 and take part in the EOC General Assembly events and the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
