GCC airport security officers meet in Doha

Qatari officials taking part in the 27th meeting of airport security officers in GCC countries, which commenced at Grand Heritage, Doha, yesterday.


Doha: The 27th meeting and field visit of airport security officers in GCC countries started yesterday at Grand Heritage, Doha. 

The meeting is being hosted by Qatar represented by the Ministry of Interior.

Welcoming the delegates, the head of Bahraini delegation and president of the meeting Brig Zuhair Salim Al Absi thanked the ministers of interior in GCC countries for the cooperation between the departments. He also thanked the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for its efforts to make this meeting successful and thanked Qatar for organising and hosting this meeting. 

The Assistant Secretary General of the GCC for security affairs, Huzaa Al Hajiri, conveyed the greeting of GCC Secretary General Dr Abdul Latheef bin Rashid Al Zayani to the delegates and thanked the Ministry of Interior-Qatar, the Minister of State for Interior Affairs H E Sheikh Abdulla bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, and the Director General of Public Security Staff Maj Gen Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi for the  arrangements made by Airport Security Department of the MoI.

On behalf of the Qatari delegation, head Brig Eissa Arar Al Rumaihi welcomed the delegates and wished them a pleasant stay in Qatar during the meeting. 

He stressed the importance of subjects to be discussed in the meeting, which is related to safety and security of airports and passengers in the GCC countries and risks that threaten the civil aviation security, exchange of expertise between the countries in this field.
