Doha: Since its inception in 2001, the Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation has leveraged its resources to enhance its community presence by implementing and supporting numerous community initiatives and activities.
In its 2024 annual report, the Foundation revealed the scale of its contributions in this area, which included supporting the efforts of numerous civil society organisations and associations, especially those working in the health and education sectors, as well as providing regular monthly financial and in-kind assistance to many needy groups within the country.
This support is designed to help these individuals aspire to a dignified and stable life.
The Foundation’s self-financing contributes to continuity, ensures aid reaches those who truly need it, and reinforces the concept of sustainability that underpins its charitable journey.
The total value of community initiatives and activities provided by the Foundation last year amounted to QR5,307,486.
Financial and in-kind assistance:
Financial and in-kind assistance is one of the core pillars through which the Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation supports different segments of society in need.
Thanks to its self-financing model, based on its investments, the Foundation can provide this assistance regularly. It follows a flexible and efficient mechanism to identify eligible recipients, aiming to reach the largest number of those in need. The form of support — whether financial or in-kind — is tailored to the specific needs of each individual or family.
The value of financial assistance provided was QR4,400,670, and the total cost of in-kind aid was QR315,316 last year.
Supporting civil society organisations:
The Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation recognises the importance of uniting efforts and achieving social solidarity by building partnerships with various local civil society organisations.
This contributes to the comprehensive development witnessed by the country in different fields.
Based on this belief, the Foundation provided all forms of support to these organisations. In 2024, the total value of such support amounted to QR591,500.
Partnership building:
The Foundation continues its ongoing support to the Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), as a humanitarian contribution to help cover treatment costs for diabetes patients who are financially unable.
This initiative aims to ease their suffering, reduce the psychological and social effects of the disease, and strengthen cooperation with the association.
As part of its social role in raising awareness and promoting education regarding the protection and rehabilitation of women and children, especially survivors of violence and family disintegration, and reintegrating them into society, the Foundation provided financial support in the past year to the Social Protection and Rehabilitation Center (AMAN).
It also supported cultural and educational events organised by the Qiyam Educational Center, which aims to design and implement educational programmes that prepare young leaders in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
In addition, the Foundation contributed financially to an Umrah pilgrimage trip organised by the Qatar Cultural and Social Center for the Deaf for a group of its members.
For the fifth consecutive year, and coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan in 2024, the Foundation partnered with Doha Municipality to distribute more than 800 food baskets to municipal workers. A dedicated team from the Foundation, along with several municipal staff members, distributed the baskets across multiple locations in Doha to reach the largest number of beneficiaries.
